About

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the first Zelda game created specifically with the Wii in mind. The game makes use of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral for sword fighting, with a revised Wii Remote pointing system used for targeting. Skyward Sword is structured very similar to previous Zelda games, as you travel through an overworld in search of temples to visit and once in you solve a series of puzzles before fighting a boss at the end and receive the next bit of plot. The biggest change is that the overworld is more focused on puzzles with only a handful of action.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword on PC, Mac or Linux?
There is no known port for Windows, macOS and Linux yet.
Do I need the original game?
You need your own copy of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Projects rebuild the game's code, not its art, audio or levels, so they read those from the copy you already own.
Is there a decompilation of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?

Is anyone working on a port of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword?
Nobody has published one on RecompHub yet. Games people want that still have no port are listed under What to work on next.
